Sex and the city

I have been very, sorry, extremely inactive in this wonderful world of blogging, and somehow I feel I have lost the entire love I had with words. It was a very disheartening realization, and sitting on my bed watching the Sex and the city series on my laptop I decided that I would challenge myself with something quite difficult.

I have been almost an illiterate when it came to the S** language, and I have been a big jerk to always laugh at every pervasive jokes my friends cracked without knowing the meaning! And so I have decided that I would write an article everyday on the title of each episode in the series. It could be anything from a general opinion on the topic, a fictional story, an anecdote or of any other genre.

It is basically to have some fun combined with my love for writing. Hope you guys like it and would really really love those sexy comments from you all!!

Cheers!

10 Day Challenge- Final strike

This being my last day of the challenge, I thought I would chuck the 'favourite three' idea and go on and write about what I feel like writing about.

First things first, the challenge truly earned me several new visitors and followers, which I love. Thank you all. Your comments and suggestions are truly a boost to my writing :).

Now to the more lighter side of it. Or maybe not. Would you opt for a love marriage or an arranged marriage? Why is it the Indian culture, is still against love marriage? Or atleast they are not for it. Or maybe it is mostly in the southern part of India, and the northern part have grown beyond it. I have heard parents tell their children, "Swantham chekane kandu pidichu nyangale veshamipikarathu" (Do not bring sadness to us by choosing a guy by yourself). What sadness are they talking about? What if their child's happiness lies with that person? Or do the parents mean to agree to the guy/girl they choose for their child, even if the child's happiness lies with some other person. As long as the parents are not sad, everything and everyone is happy.
I agree, and I truly mean when I say this, we as children have absolutely no right to hurt our parents, in any way. They have given birth to us, taken care of us, fed us, bathed us, dressed us, made us happy in every way possible with great pain and difficulty. When I speak, I do not mean you elope with the person you have met few days, months or years back for the parents who have taken care of you for your entire life. Neither do I agree with it. Infact, I strongly disagree with it. But does that mean, we let go or sacrifice our happiness for our parent's happiness?
My parents sometimes say that love marriages do not work. But what guarantee can they give me that arranged marriages will work. On the other hand, aren't there tens and thousands of love marriages that are still strong (touch wood), but more than hundereds of arranged marriages that are waiting for their cases to be accepted in the courts? The only bonus star I have found about arranged marriages when compared to love marriages is that, when arranged marriages do not work you have your parents to support you. But in love marriages you just have yourself to blame. Or maybe not. I am not very sure.
But, isn't love about two souls being as one? You love a person, you trust him, care for him, stand by him in thick and thin. And expect, and hope, the same in return. Be it love marriage or arranged marriage, I believe that this institution called marriage is a very solemn and sacred place, where adjustment is a vital ingredient. and the next most important organ would be trust and love. If you love a person, completely with your entire heart, I believe, trust follows its way.

P.S: I am neither for or against either of them. I believe it is a very pure and loving relationship, that should be nurtured and preserved. It should be given the value which it deserves, and should be grown with great care and respect. As long as you hold on to the person you love, I guess there won't be any problem in living life together. Maybe for seven whole years :)!

10 Day Challenge- Strike 9

Facebook is the 'in' thing for a long time now. Being an addict for a long time, and now being not available in Fb was a tough task. But I have achieved it. Though at time I do miss it. Reasons:

- Facebook is probably the only, and I actually mean only, way to know details about your friends, colleagues blah blah. A senior, and a close friend of mine, is getting married. I know the date and venue, despite she officially calling me. When I met her recently, I asked her if she isn't inviting me for the wedding. She said I had sent all of you an official message on Fb! Dude, how many times do I have to tell all of you I am not on Fb. Is that the only way to communicate with others? What more? Our teachers are informing us about seminars through Fb!!!

- I loveeeeeeee seeing pictures of people. They could be random strangers. As long as they are pretty, have superb dressing sense (can be and/or of the following), you can be sure I would have visited your profile at least once to admire your profile picture. In fact, if the profile picture is cute enough, I am in there for sure :P. But don't worry I have and never will create any problems for anyone. I have never copied any photos. I swear :D!!

- I miss people, actually. It certainly seems Fb is the only way to talk to people. I miss talking and chatting with people, day in and out.

I am definitely going to return to the Facebook world soon. Till then, life is as much good without it. I atleast got to know who my true, actual friends are. Cheers :)

10 Day Challenge- Strike 8

Three things I can never leave my house or presently room without.

1) Mobile Phone : What if Amma(mother) calls all of a sudden? What if my best friend is in trouble and need my help? What if my friend (who rarely leaves earlier), while walking falls and requires the ankle guard from the room? What if my sister decides to visit me all of a sudden and wants to know where I am? What if...??? These are all excuses for me to carry my Samsung Galaxy, no matter where I go. But I cannot, leave my house without it.

2) Watch : Time waits for no one. Hence, I don't forget to wear it :P! Well not really. I just hate it when my right hand is empty. That's the space for my watch!!!! I would die for watches so I love to flaunt them. I don't mind getting drenched in the rain, but I make it a point to remove my watch and place it safely inside my bag. Yes, I am a watch freak!

3) Band : What if the band I am using to keep my hair intact cheats on me and breaks? What if one of my friend is in need for one? I just love wearing an extra pink hair band on my left hand.

So here they are. Three things I can't leave without and can't lave my room without.

10 Day Challenge- Strike 6

Every small tiny winy kid loves cartoons. I keep wishing all of us would be able to laugh at tiny little things, like my nephew does when he watches Tom and Jerry. Infact, anyone who watches Tom and Jerry, no matter how 'old' they are would forget their worries and laugh their heads off. Hence, today's note would be on my favourite cartoons.

1) Tom and Jerry : I guess it was very obvious that my most favourite cartoon would be Tom and Jerry. I mean who doesn't like that cartoon?! If the scene of a cat running behind a mice for an entire half an hour can make you laugh beyond you ever imagined, then why not? I truly adore watching both of them fight, and Jerry getting Tom into trouble when the lady comes or when the dog is around. Infact, there has also been moments where people say that they would do something when Tom catches Jerry. Or when the face of the lady in the cartoon is shown. Lovely funny cartoon I must say.

2) Powerpuff Girls : Girl power personified!! Who would have imagined three girls would rescue the entire world from any evil. Well, yes, it is just a cartoon. But who knows when the concept of this cartoon becomes a reality. A bang on a man's face :P.

3) Flintstones : Fred and Wilma, you made me laugh till my stomach pained during my younger days! The way he runs the car by literally running is truly hilarious. The cartoon also depicts the friendship between Fred and George. I truly loved Flintstones. Infact I still do!

P.S : Others that made it close are:
Dexter's Laboratory, Jetsons, Mickey Mouse, Looney Tunes, Popeye, Scooby Doo..... Phew now this was tough!!

10 Day Challenge- Strike 5

Movies movies movies...I could watch them for an entire day or even more. Next in queue are 3 of my favourite movies.

1) Walk to Remember : Romantic, cute, heart-breaking, eye filling.. The movie clearly depicts pure love between two individuals. From the beginning till the end, the movie does not really seem to be a movie. It seems to be more like watching two lives infront of you rather than a movie. You just wouldn't want the movie to end. And definitely not in the way that it ends. Your heart skips a beat in more than one scene, especially in those scenes where he tries his best to fulfill her wishes and when she is bed ridden and he takes care of her. The two characters have played their role so beautifully that any girl would just crave for a guy as sweet, caring and loving as Carter. The movie is just out of the world.

2) Bride Wars : I probably love this movie because it completely, in every sense, reminds me of my bestest friend ever. She studying for law makes it a lot more real to Kate Hudson in the movie. Stubborn, never wrong, strong, career-oriented, bold, fierce would definitely be the words I would use to describe Bhadra. The things they do to each other to get over with their revenge, despite which they end up being together at the end, describes true friendship. True, everlasting friendship.

3) Fashion : Priyanka Chopra, I so love you in this movie. One word to describe her in this movie would be SEXY! Especially the last scene, where she stands for 5 mins as the show stopper was truly the movie stopper scene. I don't really know if the movie brings out the true colours of the industry, but it truly brought out the 'Fashion' in me :P!

10 Day Challenge- Strike 4

Television is one of my weak point. Now more than ever, since I watch it very rarely now! So here are my three favourite tv shows.

1) Modern Family : One word to describe this show would be MODERN!!!Every family claims or hopes to be modern, but no family can be as modern as these people. I wonder how many families would accept their son to be a gay, accept their father to have a relationship with a woman as old as his daughter, and have a brother as old as your son. Phew. Now that's what I call a Modern Family! One show that helps me lighten up my mood no matter how down I am. And the thoughts given to us at the end of the show is just mind blowing!

2) Las Vegas : One SEXY show. The women just make you whistle your tune to the loudest ad the men are just..phew..so bloody hot!!!! I just love everything about this show. The location (obviously!!who doesn't like and dream of going to Las Vegas), the attires worn by the cast, the cast themselves (ha i could watch them all day long) and the Montecito Casino!!!

3) Emotional Atyachar : No liar can escape from these people. Every lover would think twice, or maybe even more than that, before cheating on their partner, thanks to these guys. The show would be unethical, against the culture of India and what not. But it completes it purpose to the fullest. However I would like to see one show where the partner under the loyalty test turns to be a true lover!

So voila, my three favourite tv shows!!!

10 Day Challenge- Strike 3

Next in my list would be the three best moments in my life. These are three mindblowingly-super-fantastic events that made my life a lot more happier and gave more reason for me to live.

1) New Arrival : This would definitely be the first in this list. December 16, 2008. The day my nephew was born. Oh God, Nephew makes it sound so far. The day my boy was born is so much better. He caught my finger with his tiny little fingers and I promised him I would never let that hand go, no matter how big it grows. No matter if it is sun, wind, hay, or rain, as long as I am with him, I would not let anything hurt him. For more details on this very special day of mine, refer to It's a boy!!! post.

2) New Years Eve : Meeting your 2 bestest friends after 3 years would definitely be second on my list. Especially on New Years Eve. Probably the best New Years!! What made it ultra-special and cool is that we spent it at one of my friend's place with just the three of us. We lie down looking at the stars, cut the cake, spoke till 3 in the morning, slept cuddling each other to the fullest, spoke about old memories and new happenings in each other's life, danced like there was no tomorrow....Phew...I wish I would get back those two days.

3) Surprise Filled : Next in line would be my 20th birthday, which was filled with surprises. For more details, go back to Overload of Surprises. My friends made my day. Love you all for that :*

P.S: Trust me, it was really really very difficult to chose three out of the many superb events that made my life a lot more special.

An Apology

I had challenged myself for 10 continuous days. However due to college requirements, I was unable to post a post yesterday. I apologize to all my readers, and promise to be up-to-date from here onwards.

10 Day Challenge- Strike 2

Going through one of my fellow blogger's blog, I came across an article on food. Being in a hostel, with 'nutritious' food, it filled my mouth with water. Hence, my next challenge would be 3 chows that entertain my appetite well enough.

1) Burgers- They can fill my stomach at any time of the day. The only non-veg food I crave for, at hostel, are burgers. The more the cheese, the merrier! My order for the day, Chicken Burger with Extra Cheese please...

2) Chicken Biriyani- A Malabari hot chicken biriyani, served with cold salad?? Oh yes! I would definitely go out with someone who would offer me that. If it is home-made I would forget the word 'No' for a long time. Infact I would probably forget all the alphabets :P!!!

3) Maggi Noodles- You give it to me as breakfast, lunch AND dinner, I would be the happiest person. Add scrabbled eggs with it, and, voila delicious tasty maggi noodles is ready. No wonder I make a mess when I have to share it with my friends at hostel!!!

So herethey are, 3 mouth watering dishes that would make any dull day of mine THE best :)

10 Day Challenge- Strike 1

As put forward by my fellow blogger, here are my 3 most embarrassing moments. They really killed the hell out of me, to make a place in this space!

1) The Great Fall : Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. So did I. Imagine yourself falling in front of a hundred co-students, on the middle of the road, with your legs spread apart. Funny? Well yes that is what my friends felt when they saw me in this 'compromising' position! Not to mention, one of my most embarrassing moments ever. To see almost everyone around you laughing their heads off and you sitting 'helpless' on the floor like a kid!

2) The Purse Emptier : I never knew accompanying your best friend to the parlour would empty your purse to the last penny. My best friend accomplished in that task. She had gone for a pedicure, hand and leg wax and eyebrow shaping when I had nothing to do. No, I had started going to the parlour by then but had just visited it the week before. And so jobless, I decided to colour my hair. Yes, I know. Very wrong choice. Especially when you have not informed your mother about it, haven't asked the price before agreeing to the colour and the worst, having very little notes of money in your wallet. It cost me 860 and I had 500. I stood mouth wide open seeing the bill. My friend added a 300 to it, excluding her personal contribution to the parlour. Definitely second in my 'most embarrassing' list.

3) The Guitar Woman : My very first 'guitar' show at my very new school. The moment I get into the stage to play my weapon, my very dear seniors keep shouting and howling so that one among the howlers could play my weapon next on stage! Yes. He didn't have a guitar, he requested me to lend mine and was a part among the 15 'bullies' bullying me. It was a terrible and embarrassing moment then, but now one of the most happiest and funniest moment at school. Especially when the very seniors became a few of my favourite people in school, later on.

I hope you all have had a fun time 'imagining' my moments :P!

10 Day Challenge...

I am bored, and, have a very bad writer's block. Hence,I put myself through a challenge for the next 10 days, starting from tomorrow. 3, being my lucky number, I will have to bring in 3 of my favourites in any area. Be it food, songs, movies, actors, issues, gadgets, books, authors, characters, cartoons, you name it, I will face it.

All the very best to myself :)!

P.S: Anyone willing to know more about me is free to challenge me with any area to choose from.
